Brazil's federal tax authority reported that iGaming sector revenues reached $1.18 billion during the first five months of 2026. This collection total marks an 86% increase compared to the $634 million recorded in the same period last year.
The 2026 figure already surpasses 60% of the $1.99 billion total generated across the entire 2025 calendar year. Industry projections indicate that current collection trends will push annual iGaming tax revenue above $2.8 billion by the end of 2026.
Tournament-Driven Wagering Activity
The revenue expansion aligns with heightened betting engagement during the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Players transferred approximately $102 million to licensed platforms between the championship start and June 25. The Brazil versus Scotland fixture alone produced over $5 million in turnover, registering a 35% increase above the average daily volume measured before the tournament.
