DraftKings will launch its online sportsbook and casino operations in Alberta on 13 July. This expansion marks the operator’s entry into Canada’s second regulated online gambling province.
The launch establishes Alberta as the 34th North American jurisdiction for DraftKings Sportsbook. Customers will access same-game parlays, live betting, and odds boosts. DraftKings Casino and the Golden Nugget Online Gaming brand will also operate in the province, mirroring their existing presence in Ontario.
Community Events and Charity Initiatives
Ahead of the market opening, the company will host a FIFA World Cup watch party in Calgary on 11 July. This event is part of a broader series of activities across North America during the tournament. To coincide with the launch, DraftKings announced a CAD$150,000 donation to Food Banks Alberta.
The funds will support the purchase of over 40,000 pounds of food for distribution through the organization’s member network.
