Seneca Gaming Corporation has appointed Lon O’Donnell as senior vice president of gaming operations. The appointment was announced on July 10, 2026, marking O’Donnell’s return to the New York market after a brief tenure in Colorado.
O’Donnell will oversee gaming strategy for slot operations, table games, and sportsbook activities across Seneca’s four United States properties. These locations include Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino, Seneca Allegany Resort & Casino, Seneca Buffalo Creek Casino, and Seneca Hickory Stick Golf. He will relocate to the Buffalo area for this position.
Previous Experience and Industry Background
O’Donnell joins Seneca six months after starting a senior role at Bally’s Casino Black Hawk. Regarding the quick transition, O’Donnell stated on LinkedIn: "When an opportunity like this comes along, you don't say no." He also acknowledged his previous employers, noting that the team at Bally’s Black Hawk runs a tight operation across three properties.
O’Donnell possesses more than 30 years of experience within the gaming sector. His career began in 1994, including a role as director of slot operations at several MGM Nevada properties until 2006. He has also held positions at Scientific Games, Aruze Gaming, and Grand Casino Mille Lacs & Hinckley.
